A Better Weight Week 1

A Non-diet, Hope-filled, Faith based weight loss group met for the first time on Tuesday. We discussed the importance of recognizing negative thougths, that often are converted into reactive behaviors and leading to responsive behaviors. These often manipulate us to give into our comfort food, which only will help us to feel good about ourselves for a couple of minutes. Caregivers Support and Group Week 1

The caregivers support group met on Wednesday for the first time,  We discussed the challenges and difficulties that taking care of others with disabilties can bring. During the next 12 weeks, we will be discussing the following topics: 

1. Suggestions for dealing with challenging behaviors.

2. Handling the holidays.

3. Effective communication with adults and children.
